It has been confirmed by Renfe that the local train services between Murcia and Águilas on the C-2 line are to be increased for the summer.
The number of daily trains is to be doubled to six in each direction for the next two months, until the end of August, meaning that there will be a total of 3,600 return seats available every day.
This, coupled with the extended timetable, means that people from the capital can easily enjoy a full day out at the beach in Águilas, and the move comes on the back of a recent study which showed that 66% of summer passengers on the line are young people aged between 16 and 29.
Of course, this also means that there are more trains going into Murcia from Águilas for those who want to spend a day in the capital.
Full details of train services locally can be found on the Renfe website or by contacting the tourist offices.
