Seven people have been arrested by the police in Murcia in an operation which has successfully dismantled a group selling illegal drugs in the city.
The Drugs and Organized Crime squad compiled information about the criminal organization, finding that the illegal drugs were brought into the country by air from South America, concealed in passenger baggage or even inside the trafficker’s body. They were then being taken to private homes, where they were prepared for distribution and sale.
Having completed their surveillance, officers swooped on two houses in Molina de Segura and La Raya on 28th May, arresting four men and three women of Colombian, Bolivian and Spanish nationality. At the same time they confiscated 1,200 grams of cocaine, 7,070 euros in cash, a vehicle and various tools and utensils used in preparing the drugs for sale. The arrested are now awaiting trial.
