Formed in October 2006 Fuente Old Guard Golf Society aims to provide competition, social events and organize golf matches for the benefit of members in a friendly, sporting and courteous manner at the most competitive cost.
Individuals are permitted to join regardless of race, colour, religion or gender.
Currently the society has a membership of over forty, made up of Full and Non-Spanish Resident Members.
Golf competitions are arranged each month and normally take place on the last Thursday in the month. Except for June, July and December, when matches are organized on the second Thursday. At least one or two of these games are subsidized by the society.
The society likes to use a variety of different courses throughout Murcia and Almeria but only plays at courses where a value for money green fee deal is offered.
A number of members meet up each Thursday morning at Hacienda Del Alamo Academy to play friendly matches on the six hole course.
We hold an annual inter-golf society match with another society from Almeria and these are normally closely fought but good natured affairs.
Two subsidized presentation evenings are arranged in the year. One in mid June and the other in early December. Members and their guests are welcomed.
At the time of writing the joining fee for Full Members is €20 which includes a society polo shirt. Monthly subscription is €5, payable six months in advance. Non-Spanish Resident Members pay the joining fee and then €5 for each game they play. Guests are welcome to play with us for a nominal extra fee.
