An exhibition of the work of the Catalan photographer Kim Manresa entitled "Escuelas de Otros Mundos", sponsored by the CAM, is currently being held in the Municipal Museum of San Javier.
The exhibition attempts to familiarise the public with the reality of dozens of foreign countries through the eyes of children. Manresa works in black and white images, and won UNICEF's International Prize for the collection "Childhood in the 21st Centruy", which dealt with children's schooling in a variety of countries, including Mali, Nepal, Guatemala, Ethiopia, Vietnam, Mozambique and Palestine.
A professional working for La Vanguardia newspaper, Manresa has travelled all over the world and his work has been shown in some of the most prestigious museums. He has published more than 30 books, and among his many prizes is the silver medal of the U.S. Society of Newspaper Design of Photojournalism.
The exhibition "Escuelas de otros mundos" has been on display on 25 different locations in Catalunya since 2006, and is now on tour throughout the rest of Spain. Its stay in San Javier lasts until 8th May.
The Municipal Museum of San Javier is located in the heart of San Javier right opposite the Town hall. There is an underground carpark just metres away from the entrance.
