The Fundación Cajamurcia has begun its “El Privilegio de la Mirada” cycle, which aims to teach those taking part how to admire a work of art, interpreting and contextualizing masterpieces through graphic reproductions, texts and other resources.
The cycle is being held in the splendid setting of the Sala Cajamurcia Belluga, which is right next to Murcia cathedral in the Plaza Belluga and begins with a painting called “Curación del Paralítico”, by Pedro Orrente (1580-1645), which belongs to the Fundación Cajamurcia. Orrente is one of Murcia’s best known painters, and this is a great opportunity to study one of his works in detail.
The study of Orrente’s artistic production is complemented by graphic reproductions of some of his most famous paintings, as well as texts by art historians Elías Hernández Albaladejo and Cristóbal Belda. Sr Belda is not only the coordinator of this cycle, but also director of the Proyecto Huellas, which is concerned with the recovery and promotion of historical and artistic heritage thanks to the Fundación Cajamurcia.
This first exhibition in the cycle is open to public until 15th September between 11.00 and 14.00 from Monday to Friday.
