Cat's bar is located in the main commercial shopping centre on Camposol Sector A ( Los Palacios) and is now under new management.
Sara and Sean have worked on Camposol for the last seven years and are now bringing all their experience to give a new look to Cats, creating a friendly, welcoming bar, which offers a carefully considered and well priced range of home cooked food and drinks during the day, as well as evening snacks and entertainment.
The bar has a selection of different eating and seating areas: the outdoor area popular with those who want to soak up the sun or sit in the shade of an umbrella whilst enjoying a coffee and a snack, the main bar area used for the sociable activities and watching the latest sporting action on big-screen TV, and back area popular with groups and clubs for private activities and used for various meetings such as exercise classes, weight loss clubs, or special-interest groups.
Practical and well priced menu
The menu focuses on traditional British favourites and has been designed to include vegetarian options, children's options and a Sunday roast, all at prices which fit the budgets of year-round residents.
The day starts with breakfast, diners selecting from a variety of options, including a vegetarian fry up, the most popular offering being "the big one" which is literally two of everything for just €3.50.
A full range of sandwiches, baguettes and wraps are also on offer, together with toasted sandwiches. Fillings range from sausage, bacon and egg and include all the popular favourites such as tuna, BLT, ham and egg mayo or corned beef.
As the day moves on to lunchtime, the breakfast menu is supplemented with Jacket Potatoes and a variety of fillings, including a vegetarian option, substantial beefburgers made with Irish steak and baguette melts, including the popular roast beef baguette.
Pub favourites: This range of meals has been designed as a credit crunch lunch, with the choice of popular pub favourite meals, all offered at just five euros per head. The options change regularly, but generally include favourites such as steak and ale pie, whole tail Scottish scampi, meat or vegetable lasagne or York ham and eggs, all served mash or chips , peas, beans or salad.
Tuesday is pensioners special day
In addition, Tuesday is pensioners day, and these pub favourites only cost four euros each and include a free tea, coffee or soft drink.
Thursday market day special
Thursday is market day on Camposol Sector A and Cat's offers thirsty shoppers ( or bored husbands) a bacon or sausage sandwich with a cup of tea or coffee for just three euros, or a beef burger and a cup of tea or coffee for the same price.
This special offer is available all day on Thursdays.
Sunday lunches.
Sunday lunch is a popular choice and it's advisable to book.
Diners can choose from the option of large or small portions, and from one course to three.
Small portions are €5.50, and large €6.50 with a choice of various roasts, Yorkshire puds and vegetables, or lamb shank can be ordered for eight euros.
A selection of home-made desserts and starters can be ordered at two euros per course.
Social events
Throughout the week. The bar is used for a variety of events by local clubs and societies, as well is running its own sociable activities. There is also big-screen sports action on offer, covering all main sporting events
Monday . Slimming club 11am.
Tuesday. Friends and Buddies from 8pm. Come along and meet new friends in an informal environment . There is also a fortnightly knitting club meeting at Cat's and Zumba from 5-6pm.
Wednesdays at Cat's, Fish and chips special from 6 - 9 p.m for only €6.50
Thursdays is karaoke evening and disco from 9pm till late and ladies darts night for any one wanting to join in the Cat's team. There is also slimming club at 11am and rumba between 5 and 6pm.
Thursdays All day market special.
Sundays evening is Quiz night from 9 p.m, including "Play your cards right"
