Antipodas Tavern offer's a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere with superb food and wine. Whether you fancy seafood fresh from the bay and a glass of bubbly or a coffee and a homemade cake, we have it all. We are open everyday and are committed to making every visit a special occasion.
Renovations to the 120 year old building were completed in July. Previously in its history it was the original church of the village, a schoolhouse, fisherman's store and a dive centre! We now have a large restaurant and bar area, with huge windows, meaning you don't have to miss the best views of sunset in the winter.
It's a colourful and eclectic environment, just like us. With staff from Spain, Ireland, Holland and England at present we can usually make ourselves understood no matter where you are from!
Many of our customers make us part of a day out to visit the local attractions. Practically on our doorstep is the tower of Santa Elena (we have a salad named after it), a Moorish lookout tower. A 15 minute drive away you have the famous coastal defence guns and fort, from which you can see Morocco on a clear day. Add the beautiful beach walks and sunsets and you have the makings of a very pleasant trip. For longer stays there are boutique hotels and budget hotels nearby in the bay. Our staff are happy to give you details - pop in for a coffee and directions.
Diving enthusiasts need look no further, with 4 dive centres in the village and some of the best diving in spain, year round.
The kitchen team produce a menu del dia (be 4 courses Mon - Fri) and an a Ia carte menu offering local delicacies and fine cuts of meat and salads. Our seafood is local and sustainable and delivered twice daily. If its local food and great quality, you'll find it on our menu. The kitchen opens every day from 1-4:30 and 7-11 in the winter, and until much, much later in the summer!
Our bar is fully stocked with fine wines and spirits. We pride ourselves on our wine list and regularly sample wines from all over Spain and further afield. Alternatively, if its cocktails you fancy, Kate makes the best Mojitos this side of Havana! We offer free wi-fi connection to all our customers.

For the month of November we are offering a Menu De Noche every night of the week, Our Menu del Dia from Mon to Friday (as we have since opening, still great food, still 10€ !).
On top of these offers we are also offering a quality plate of the day on Saturday and Sunday, so whatever time or day there wilt be good food at a great price
